1h 35min. // A popular radio crooner and songwriter rides the wave of his success, adored by audiences and cherished by his young son. Behind the microphone, however, his home life teeters on the edge […]

1h 35min. // A popular radio crooner and songwriter rides the wave of his success, adored by audiences and cherished by his young son. Behind the microphone, however, his home life teeters on the edge when the slick studio manager begins making unwelcome advances toward his devoted wife. A confrontation in the studio hallway explodes into violence, and in a single disastrous moment the manager is killed, shattering the family’s fragile happiness.

Sentenced to prison for the accidental death, the once-celebrated entertainer faces a future of iron bars and regret. Believing his wife and child deserve better than a convict’s shadow, he urges her to divorce him and accept the security offered by her respectable employer, a kindly doctor. As the years pass, the outside world moves on, but the bond between father and son refuses to fade. When he is finally released, the disgraced performer must navigate a changed world, a complicated new family arrangement, and his own guilt.

Music becomes his only true language of redemption. Through songs sung on the airwaves and in intimate moments with his boy, he tries to bridge the distance that fate and his own temper created. The film weaves its talking and singing sequences into a heartfelt story of sacrifice, forgiveness, and the enduring pull of a father’s love, all set against the crackling energy of early radio and the raw immediacy of the dawn-of-sound era.

1h 0min. // In the frozen wilds of northern Canada, a lost German Shepherd pup is taken in by a roaming wolf pack and raised as one of their own. The harsh landscape becomes his playground and his proving ground, shaping him into a powerful, resourceful animal the trappers call the Wolf-Dog. When he crosses paths with Gabriel Dupre, a solitary French fur-trapper, instinct and curiosity give way to a tentative trust, and soon man and dog form a bond that bridges the divide between wilderness and civilization.

Life at the trading post, however, is far less noble than life in the snowbound forests. A corrupt post manager schemes to ruin Gabriel, coveting both his hard-won furs and the affection of his sweetheart. When the Wolf-Dog is framed for attacking a baby, fear and suspicion turn the settlement against him, and he flees back into the unforgiving wild. As tensions rise and the villain’s plot tightens around Gabriel, the loyal animal must find his way back through icy rivers and shadowed pines to clear his name, expose the treachery, and prove that courage and loyalty can outmatch greed in even the most remote corner of the North.

1h 16min. // The Cameraman (1928) is a landmark silent comedy directed by Edward Sedgwick and Buster Keaton, with Keaton also starring in one of his most beloved roles. Produced by MGM, this film marks Keaton’s first project with the studio and showcases his signature blend of physical comedy, deadpan expression, and inventive storytelling.

The film follows Buster, a shy and awkward tintype photographer in New York City who falls head over heels for Sally (Marceline Day), a secretary at MGM’s newsreel office. Hoping to impress her and win her affection, Buster decides to become a newsreel cameraman. However, his early attempts are riddled with mishaps, as he struggles with unwieldy equipment, chaotic crowds, and a fierce professional rival.

Determined to prove himself, Buster stumbles into one comedic scenario after another, including a memorable sequence involving a wild chase through Chinatown and a spontaneous baseball game in the park. With persistence, creativity, and a touch of serendipity, Buster eventually captures dramatic footage that saves the day and earns him both professional recognition and Sally’s admiration.

The Cameraman is often regarded as one of Keaton’s finest works, balancing slapstick humor with heartfelt emotion and romantic charm. The film’s clever visual gags, tightly constructed scenes, and meticulously choreographed stunts highlight Keaton’s genius as both performer and filmmaker. Despite being made at a time when sound cinema was emerging, it remains a pinnacle of silent film artistry.

Preserved as part of the National Film Registry, The Cameraman endures as a timeless tribute to ambition, resilience, and love—all told through the lens of one of cinema’s great comedic storytellers. It continues to captivate audiences with its humor, pathos, and the inimitable charm of Buster Keaton.

2h 6min. // “How Green Was My Valley” is a 1941 movie directed by John Ford, based on the novel of the same name by Richard Llewellyn. The story is set in a small Welsh mining village in the late 19th century and follows the life of Huw Morgan, a young boy who grows up in a close-knit community of miners and their families.

As the story unfolds, we see how the lives of the villagers are intertwined, and how they struggle to survive in the face of the harsh realities of mining life. Huw’s family, in particular, faces many challenges, including his father’s injury in a mining accident, his brother’s struggle with the decision to leave the village and work in the mines, and his own growing awareness of the class divisions and injustices that exist in his world.

Through it all, Huw finds comfort in the love and support of his family, and in the beauty of the valley that surrounds them. But as the coal industry begins to decline, the villagers’ way of life is threatened, and they are forced to confront the harsh realities of an uncertain future.

In the end, the movie is a poignant tribute to the resilience and strength of a community facing profound change. Through its vivid portrayal of the lives and struggles of the people of the valley, “How Green Was My Valley” offers a powerful meditation on the enduring bonds of family, the importance of community, and the resilience of the human spirit.

1h 18min. // In the Victorian England, the stingy and cranky Ebenezer Scrooge does not care to Christmas and runs his business exploiting his employee Bob Cratchit and clients. In the Christmas Eve, he is visited by the doomed ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley that tells him that three spirits would visit him that night. The first one, the spirit of past Christmas, recalls his miserable youth when he lost his only love due to his greed; the spirit of the present Christmas shows him the poor situation of Bob’s family and tiny Tim and how joyful life may be; and the spirit of future Christmas shows his fate. Scrooge finds that life is good and time is too short and suddenly you are not there anymore, changing his behavior toward Christmas, Bob, his nephew Fred and people in general.

5min. // A quiet suburban afternoon is interrupted when a mysterious package arrives on the doorstep of an unsuspecting family, containing nothing more than a shiny new pogo stick and no explanation. The family dog, curious and excitable, quickly becomes obsessed with the strange bouncing contraption. Each attempt to understand or control it leads to ever-escalating chaos around the neighborhood, as the pogo stick seems almost to have a mischievous mind of its own.

As the dog chases the pogo stick through yards, streets, and construction sites, ordinary settings are turned into slapstick obstacle courses. Garden fences become launchpads, laundry lines become traps, and even passing traffic is drawn into the tumbling spectacle. The humans can only react in baffled frustration as the dog and pogo stick wreak havoc, transforming a normal day into a frenetic chain of sight gags and pratfalls.

The mayhem builds to a wild crescendo, with the pogo stick bouncing ever higher and the dog ever more determined. Just when it seems disaster is inevitable, the frenzied energy resolves in a final, absurd twist that restores a fragile sense of order. The brief adventure leaves the neighborhood worse for wear but somehow cheerfully intact, as the last bounce fades and calm returns—at least until the next oddity arrives in the mail.
